Sarah Hyland is busy. Very busy. Between starring in Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway, juggling marriage with Bachelor in Paradise’s Wells Adams, being a dog mom, and constantly traveling between LA and New York, the Modern Family alum has a lot going on. But, this kind of schedule isn’t new for Hyland, she just remarks that the difference between the early aughts and now is, “I’m just tired” and back then “I had more energy.”
This moment of reflection comes at the start of Sarah’s new exciting partnership with Kohl’s as the brand launches its new “Where Families Come First” platform. It’s also the place where she was a Candie’s girl and the brand’s Creative Director almost a decade ago. Hyland describes that time in her 20s as “fun, glitzy, glamorous, and very flirty.” But now, she brings a sophisticated taste to the table, and lots of chic, creamy neutrals, “I’m a big neutral person,” she admits.
To kick off this new partnership with Kohl’s (a store that Hyland describes as “a one-shop-stop for quality items”), we sat with Sarah to discuss her favorite beauty products from Sephora at Kohl’s, plus pet essentials for her dog Boo, travel must-haves, what she brings as a gift to someone’s home, and her go-to items for couch rotting – “More couch rot than bed rot,” Hyland adds, “because things in my life have changed so much since I was a Candie’s girl.”
So, keep on scrolling to read more about Sarah’s favorite aesthetic (hint: Coastal Grandma) and why she’s so excited to be partnering with Kohl’s again for all the products that make her busy life a lot easier.

Sarah Hyland’s Couch Rot & Sephora at Kohl’s Beauty Picks
“I couch rot. I’m a big couch rotter. More couch rot than bed rot.” When she comes home, she puts on a red light mask and “I just freeze. I go into a functional freeze state. I eat pizza and I binge-watch shows that I’ve already watched because it’s safe and comforting and I know it.”
